The FAW C Certificate has been designed for coaches who have completed the FAW Football Leaders Award and want to further improve their coaching knowledge and skills when supporting players within a practice.
Each course has been designed to suit your own individual circumstances, with education consisting of online modules, distance learning, webinars (utilising zoom.us) and practical (in-person) contacts as-well as the requirement to coach within your own coaching environment.
Candidates will be provided with a designated mentor to support their individual journey across the FAW C Certificate, their mentor will be in place to support in all aspects of the course, including how to relate to the practical information and challenging to be creative with their thinking to support their own players, based on their age/ability.

During the course, coaches learn about the key requirements of supporting an individual within modern football, developing players across our four pillars (Technical, Physical, Psychological and Social) and their ability to plan, prepare and reflect on sessions. There is no formal assessment.
Practical Contacts
The opening contact of the award will take place in-person at your allocated venue and the course will conclude with a closing mentoring session, between your education may consist of online webinars (utilising zoom.us) and/or in-person education days at your allocated venue.
Outcomes
The FAW C Certificate is the level 2 qualification in Wales.
It supports the growth of youth coaches working across grassroots and academy football and extends the knowledge of senior coaches working in Wales.
The qualification allows coaches to further understand the requirements and responsibilities of a modern coach and how to utilise tools to support them and their players. It is also required to access the FAW/UEFA C Licence.

Course Prerequisites
Coaches must hold the relevant pre-requisites on application:
FAW Football Leaders Award.
Furthermore, to meet FAW C Certificate course criteria coaches must attain the following courses by the end of their FAW C Certificate; failure to do so will result in non-completion the course.
FAW Safeguarding Award, and
FAW First Aid Award or FAW Football Emergency Aid.
We would strongly advise that both above-named courses are completed in full prior to starting on your FAW C Certificate journey.
For those coaches working outside of Wales, you can either access these qualifications with us, or you must hold the equivalent qualifications recognised by your National Football Association.
