The FAW C Certificate has been designed for coaches who have completed the FAW Football Leaders Award and want to further improve their coaching knowledge and skills when supporting players within a practice. FAW Female Game C Certificate, designed for men and women who coach within female football.

Each course has been designed to suit your own individual circumstances, with education consisting of online modules, distance learning, webinars (utilising zoom.us) and practical (in-person) contacts as-well as the requirement to coach within your own coaching environment.

Candidates’ will be provided with a designated mentor to support their individual journey across the FAW C Certificate, their mentor will be in place to support in all aspects of the course, including how to relate to the practical information and challenging to be creative with their thinking to support their own players, based on their age/ability.

During the course, coaches learn about the key requirements of supporting an individual within modern football, developing players across our four pillars (Technical, Physical, Psychological and Social) and their ability to plan, prepare and reflect on sessions. There is no formal assessment.

Practical Contacts

The opening contact of the award will take place in-person at your allocated venue and the course will conclude with a closing mentoring session, between your education may consist of online webinars (utilising zoom.us) and/or in-person education days at your allocated venue.

Full Award details are:

Practical Days (at USW Sports Park) - February 5th, April 2nd & May 7th.

Online Education (via zoom.us) - February 12th, February 19th, March 5th, March 12th, March 19th & March 26th.

*Please note if these contacts are unable to take place due to government guidelines, the course will be delivered online on the allocated days. This will be communicated within advance of the contact days.

Outcomes

The FAW C Certificate is the level 2 qualification in Wales.

It supports the growth of youth coaches working across grassroots and academy football and extends the knowledge of senior coaches working in Wales.

The qualification allows coaches to further understand the requirements and responsibilities of a modern coach and how to utilise tools to support them and their players. It is also required to access the FAW/UEFA B Licence.

Please Note: All FAW Coach Education awards require candidates to be a minimum age of 16 before accessing any of our resources, modules or practical contact days.

Coaches must hold the relevant pre-quisites on application, including: FAW Football Leaders Award or FAW Online Football Leaders Award, FAW Safeguarding Award and the FAW First Aid Award.
