The FAW C Certificate has been designed for coaches who have completed the FAW Football Leaders Award and want to further improve their coaching knowledge and skills when supporting players within a practice.

The course consists of a series of online modules and distance learning as-well as devising and delivering a series of practical sessions, both on-course and within their own coaching environment.

Candidates’ will be provided with a designated mentor to support their individual journey across the FAW C Certificate, their mentor will be in place to support in all aspects of the course, including how to relate to the practical information and challenging to be creative with their thinking to support their own players, based on their age/ability.

About

Alongside the completion of the online modules, the course consists of six, two-hour Online Sessions (to replace the practical days) The online session will be delivered via the Zoom platform and the course will consist of three in-person practical days.

During the course, coaches learn about the key requirements of supporting an individual within modern football, developing players across our four pillars (Technical, Physical, Psychological and Social) and their ability to plan, prepare and reflect on sessions. There is no formal assessment.

Practical Contacts

The opening contact of the award will take place in-person at your allocated venue and the course will conclude with a practical weekend for your closing two-contacts.

Funding Support

Through FAW Trust funding and the Sport Wales, Be Active Wales Fund, we have been delighted to provide the opportunity for affiliated coaches within our grassroots game across Wales to access the FAW C Certificate (at no cost)

The funding has been allocated to accredited clubs within our club accreditation programme and is available for coaches who meet the funding criteria to access the next step of your coaching pathway.

Outcomes

The FAW C Certificate is the level 2 qualification in Wales.

It supports the growth of youth coaches working across grassroots and academy football and extends the knowledge of senior coaches working in Wales.

The qualification allows coaches to further understand the requirements and responsibilities of a modern coach and how to utilise tools to support them and their players. It is also required to access the FAW/UEFA B Licence.

Please Note: All FAW Coach Education awards require candidates to be a minimum age of 16 before accessing any of our resources, modules or practical contact days.

Please note; To support the alignment of Coach Education, Club Accreditation and the COMET Coach Registration process we will be moving the expiry date of our FAW Grassroots Awards. Currently our awards are valid until the 31 December, this will change on the 1 April 2020 to a new expiry date of the 31 May. the West Wales award starting on February 7th..
