This online eLearning award provides a basic and engaging introduction to the organisation of football practices in a fun, safe environment with an emphasis on engaging with the young players of today.
The award provides learners with an opportunity to discover and consider the technical and social support that we, as coaches, can provide to our players, discussing various practical aspects.
These include: the importance of area size, practice transitions, progressions and regressions, as well as ensuring the learner takes a closer look at themselves, their role as a coach, and how they currently share the messages they provide players.

Coach Cymru is ideal for those coaches and teachers looking to continue their coaching journey and enhance their learning and knowledge.
What’s contained?
OnDemand content which includes eLearning modules, a library of user-friendly session plans that are FAW endorsed and age specific, community forum discussions, informative articles, and useful resources.
Through Coach Cymru you can also book a space on upcoming Grassroots CPD events which includes webinars, in person Coaching Clinics, or the National Grassroots Coaches Conference.
Revalidation
FAW level 1 & 2 coaching qualifications are only valid for three years. To revalidate, coaches earn credits through accessing eLearning Modules, Webinars, or the National Grassroots Coaches Conference. Access is only available via the learning icon on Coach Cymru.
6 credits are needed to renew a FAW Football Leaders or FAW Goalkeepers award, whilst an FAW C Certificate and FAW C Goalkeepers Certificate requires 12 credits. A six-hour practical course following on from your 5 Online Modules, providing a basic introduction to the Organisation and delivery of goalkeeper specific activities for our next generation of players.
The course will focus on developing candidate skills in the Organisation of practices in a fun, safe, learning environment and additional post-course electronic course resource(s) provided.

A three-hour online course developing an awareness of first aid techniques within a football environment.
This course has been designed by the FAW Medical Department to meet the needs of grassroots football and the requirements of the FAW Club Accreditation Scheme.
FAW Safeguarding Award

A three-hour interactive on-course workshop to support candidates in developing good practice when working with children and vulnerable adults from across our sport.
The workshop will focus on identifying poor practice and recognising signs, symptoms and forms of abuse and how to react to concerns or disclosures. It will also provide advice on how to identify people and organisations that can help and provide support in such situations.
FAW C Certificate
FAW C Certificate
The FAW C Certificate is delivered utilising a variety of in-person education contacts, online workshops and off course mentoring sessions in regional hubs.
It is designed to educate candidates in the technical, physical, psychological and social requirements of modern football. It will develop candidates’ ability to plan, prepare, deliver and reflect on coaching sessions for the development of players.
Coaches will complete online modules and coursework throughout the course and be expected to deliver practical sessions, both on and off course. However, there is no formal assessment.
FAW C Certificate Goalkeepers
FAW C Certificate
Our FAW C Certificate, Coaching Goalkeepers (Level Two), follows on from our FAW Goalkeepers Award (Level One) course.
This course will support your development in your ability to effectively plan, prepare, deliver and reflect on coaching sessions. through regular online modules, practical contact days and specific 1-1 mentoring through our accredited tutors. Online modules will also be followed by personal assignments to support your development away from course.
The course pre-requisites are a Valid FAW Goalkeepers Award (or equivalent level 1) along with a valid 1st Aid certificate and Safeguarding certificate.
The FAW reserves the right to refuse any applicant access to the FAW C Certificate, Coaching goalkeepers Programme if the applicant does not meet the required criteria.

The FAW C Certificate, online transitional workshops are designed to provide candidates with the opportunity to complete post course tasks to support in achieving the FAW C Certificate, Youth qualification to go alongside their existing FAW C Certificate, Senior qualification.

Please Note: The required pre-requisite to access the FAW/UEFA C Licence is a valid FAW C Certificate
Continue on our coach education pathway with the first step onto the UEFA ladder. On the FAW/UEFA C Licence you will have the opportunity to further explore our welsh way principles and how they can be embedded into your coaching practices, introduce you to the four moments of the game (Attacking, Defending and Transitional moments) to increase your understanding of our game principles and provide you with practical examples of how to utilise general based sessions within your coaching practices to the benefit of your players.
You will be required to attend a combination of practical, on and off course theory and completion e-learning and distance learning.
Post contact work is required in addition to an on course FAW/UEFA coaching assessment.

The FAW/UEFA B regional course is a seven-day course, completed over a seven month period. On the FAW/UEFA B Licence you will develop your game understanding and tactical knowledge via a combination of practical, on and off course theory, e-learning and distance learning. Post contact work is required in addition to an on course FAW/UEFA coaching assessment.
FAW/UEFA B Licence Residential

The FAW/UEFA B residential course is a six day intensive course, for coaches who have experience of playing or coaching within the professional game. The course is framed within the ‘Welsh Way’ principles, set-out in our National Syllabus, and designed to create coaches who plan and design meaningful practices, in varied contexts.

Our FAW/UEFA B Licence, Coaching Goalkeepers (Level Three), follows on from our FAW C Certificate Coaching Goalkeepers (Level Two) course.
This course will support your development in game understanding and tactical knowledge through regular online modules, practical contact days and specific 1-1 mentoring through our accredited tutors. Online modules will also be followed by personal assignments with an on-going assessment throughout the course duration.
The course pre-requisites are a Valid FAW Goalkeepers C Certificate (or equivalent level 2) along with an FAW C Certificate (outfield level 2 certificate) as well as a valid 1st Aid certificate and Safeguarding certificate.

FAW to FAW/UEFA Goalkeepers B Transition Course

The FAW Goalkeeping B Licence, UEFA Transition Course, is designed to allow candidates to convert their FAW Goalkeeping B Licence into an FAW/UEFA Goalkeepers B Diploma.
Candidates will be required to complete an online task and attend a practical delivery day.
The Prerequisites for this course are:

- Valid FAW C Certificate (or Level 2 equivalent)

Central to the FAW/UEFA A Licence is developing the coach’s capacity to utilise and apply reflective practice techniques. Coaches are encouraged to develop a personal philosophy that challenges and benefits players at their club. The course is framed within the ‘Welsh Way’ principles, set-out in our National Syllabus, and designed to create coaches who plan and design meaningful practices, in varied contexts. The course is delivered through flexible teaching methods, over a 12-month period. It consists of three residential teaching blocks, arranged around the competitive season breaks. Support is provided between course times by dedicated FAW mentoring staff, who work on the individual needs of each coach. Coaches will also complete a series of online modules throughout the course. The UEFA A & Elite Youth A Licence Combined Course will enhance the education and increase the employability of coaches choosing the Coach Education pathway in Wales

FAW UEFA PRO LICENCE
The FAW/UEFA Pro Licence course is framed to prepare candidates to work as a modern-day manager or head coach. It is aimed at developing leadership and advanced interpersonal skills, in order to successfully implement a unique management style and philosophy. Pro Licence coaches are expected to develop advanced coaching techniques and the ability to work effectively in professional football.

‘The FAW Performance Analysis Conference is a one-day event aimed at analysts of all levels, aspiring analysts or coaches with a special interest in analysis. The content changes each year but covers a range of topics from tactical analysis, application of data, benchmarking and modelling practice to industry news and standards. The conference is delivered by FAW performance analysts and guest analysts/coaches. A range of software and hardware companies working within the industry are also in attendance to showcase their products. This is a great opportunity to learn and network.
