FAW NATIONAL GRASSROOTS COACHES CONFERENCE 2022 

Registration is now open for the FAW National Grassroots Coaches Conference 2022. This FREE online conference will provide a unique opportunity for coaches and leaders to learn from grassroots educators. The Conference launches on Sunday 8th May 2022 at 9am and content will be available for coaches to access until Thursday 30st June 2022.

Attendance at the Conference will revalidate grassroots FAW coaching qualifications that are due to expire on 31st May 2022 or later this year. The qualifications include:

• FAW Football Leaders Award

 • FAW Goalkeepers Award

• FAW C Certificate

• FAW C Certificate Goalkeepers

• FAW B Licence Coaching Goalkeepers


Coaches will be required to access all core content and then select from a range of optional modules which will best support their coaching practice. 

  • If you are revalidating your FAW Football Leaders Award or FAW Goalkeepers Award you are required to access a minimum of two (2) optional modules.
  • If you are revalidating the FAW C Certificate, FAW C Certificate Goalkeepers or FAW B Licence Coaching Goalkeepers you are required to access a minimum of four (4) optional modules.
  • These are the minimum requirements, and you can access as many modules as you’d like to support your learning.

With the Conference being on online, OnDemand, coaches can learn at their own pace, and access content wherever and whenever you want. Therefore, you could access all of the required content in one go, or at different times up until 30th June 2022.


Once coaches have completed the Conference, their qualification will be valid until 31st May 2025

Foundation Coach Education 

Q) How do I complete my FAW Football Leaders Award?

A) The FAW Football Leaders Award will remain 100% online for the 2022-23 season, this can continue to be accessed immediately via fawcourses.com

Q) How do I complete my FAW First Aid Award?

A) The FAW First Aid Award is a 3-hour practical (100% in-person) based workshop and can be accessed at many of our regional facilities across Wales. To register, please visit fawcourses.com 

Q) How do I complete my FAW Safeguarding Award?

A) The FAW Safeguarding Award will remain 100% online, delivered via an interactive three (3) hour workshop (utilising zoom.us). To register, please visit fawcourses.com

Q) How do I complete my FAW Goalkeepers Award?

A) The FAW Goalkeepers Award will remain 100% online for the 2022-23 season, our new interactive award will launch from September 2022 on fawcourses.com

Q) Why has the FAW Coaching Footballers with a Disability Award, been removed from

FAWCourses.com?

A) We’ve identified the importance of coaches understanding how to support every type of individual that enters your coaching practice, due to this, the FAW Football for All eLearning Module has been developed and will be embedded into our FAW Football Leaders Award from May 2022, to replace this bespoke workshop.

Q) Why has the FAW Futsal Award, been removed from FAWCourses.com?

A) Futsal education will be available to access online from September 1st 2022.





Revalidation 

Q) How can I revalidate my FAW Grassroots coaching qualification?

A) Qualifications include:

  • FAW Football Leaders Award,
  • FAW Goalkeepers Award, 
  • FAW C Certificate,
  • FAW C Certificate Goalkeepers,
  • FAW B Licence Coaching Goalkeepers

To revalidate one of the above-mentioned qualifications, Coaches would be required to complete the FAW National Grassroots Coaches Conference, which will be held online for 2022. The Conference will launch on Sunday 8th May 2022 and content will be available for Coaches to access until Thursday 30th June 2022.

Coaches can also revalidate by attending the next level qualification; for example if you hold an FAW Football Leaders Award (level 1) you could access the FAW C Certificate (Level 2). This would revalidate your FAW Football Leaders Award.

Q) Will the COMET system know my qualification has been revalidated if I attend the conference?

A) Once you have completed the FAW National Grassroots Coaches Conference your Club COMET Champion can update the COMET additional information section with the revalidated expiry date. This will aid the confirmation of coach registration and requirements of Club Accreditation.

Q) Will my Coach Registration expire on COMET?

A) COMET coach registration expiry dates that are due to expire on 31st May 2022 will now be extended to 30th June 2022 to align to the end date of the FAW National Grassroots Coaches Conference. This will then provide time for coaches complete the revalidation process by 30th June 2022. Once a coach has completed the revalidation process, the FAW will then automatically extend the coach registration from 30th June 2022 to 31st May 2023.

Q) Is there a cost to attend the FAW National Grassroots Coaches Conference?

A) No. This is free of charge

Q) What happens if I do not revalidate my FAW qualification?

A) Your qualification would become in-active.

Q) How often do I need to revalidate my qualifications?

A) Qualifications are valid for a three (3) year validity period.

Q) If I have attended a local workshop or regional coaching conference previously will those hours count towards revalidation of my qualification?

A) No due to the amount of time that has lapsed since attendance at the workshop/conference.

Q) How do I revalidate my UEFA B, A or Pro Licence (Level 3-5) coaching qualifications?

Q) Has my FAW First Aid and/or FAW Safeguarding expiry date been extended?

A) Please note, the original expiry dates of FAW First Aid and FAW Safeguarding Awards remain in place.

Q) How do I revalidate my FAW First Aid and/or FAW Safeguarding qualification?

A) Qualifications have a three (3) year validity period. Due to the importance of the content on these awards, coaches are required to complete the course again to refresh understanding and knowledge. To register, please visit fawcourses.com
